4TH ANNUAL BOOK & A BALL -INAUGURAL”BEE DAY”

Recap of Bee Day 2024: Celebrating Community, Education, and Empowerment

On May 25th, 2024, the Born to Bmore Foundation hosted its highly anticipated Bee Day event, a celebration of community spirit, education, and empowerment. Despite a rainy start, the day unfolded beautifully, bringing together families, volunteers, and supporters from across Baltimore.

Morning Session: Book and a Ball Clinic

The day kicked off with the 4th annual Book and a Ball Clinic held at Overlea High School. From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, young athletes and book enthusiasts gathered to participate in a unique program that combined sports skills training with educational activities. The clinic aimed not only to improve basketball skills but also to promote literacy and academic engagement among the youth of Baltimore.

Participants engaged in drills, learned valuable techniques from experienced coaches, and received books to take home, fostering a love for reading alongside their passion for sports. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as children and teens immersed themselves in learning and friendly competition.

Afternoon Session: BeeDay Community Event

As the morning activities concluded, the festivities shifted to Golden Ring Park for the BeeDay Community Event. Despite the earlier rain, families arrived eagerly, ready to enjoy an afternoon filled with music, resources, and fun activities for all ages.

From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Golden Ring Park came alive with music performances, interactive booths offering community resources, and games that kept everyone entertained. Local businesses and sponsors contributed generously, providing prizes that added to the excitement of the day.

The highlight of the event was the sense of unity and support within the community. Families bonded over shared experiences, children played freely, and adults connected over common interests and aspirations for their neighborhood.
